 SPEAKER:  Janet Trump

Janet Trump, Cultivator at Something Yet to Be, a group process for women who are seeking something more

TOPIC: Circle: The Women’s Way

Circle is more than a way to arrange the chairs in a room. It is a way of conducting business that faciliates collaboration and group cohesion. Organizations that rely on circle principles are often more successful because they recognize that good ideas can come from any person in the group.

This program will outline the basic tenets of circle, how they can enrich personal and professional life, and include stories about real people who have used this method of communication and conflict resolution. It is an approach that sits outside of hierarchy and power. Although it is sometimes thought of as “the women’s way,” it is a method that is that is embraced by thoughtful leaders of all genders throughout the world.

Janet has been a newspaper reporter and editorial page editor, award-winning columnist, freelance writer, mediator, bank teller, and museum gardener.  Her unpaid gigs include wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, friend, gardener, coach, volunteer, board member, actor, poet, and visionary.

Her last “real” job was working as the marketing and development director for a home health agency. She left that position in late 2008 to be a midwife of dreams with Something Yet To Be. She lives in Adams County in a pre-Civil War farmhouse and is a performing member of the Maryland Playback Ensemble.
